Industrial Steel Coating

Steel that is not enclosed by building finishes, coated with a contact-type fireproofing or in contact with concrete must be coated to prevent rust and corrosion. Industrial metal coatings are added to the metal to provide an extra layer of protection from mechanical and environmental conditions. Coating can greatly improve the performance and extend the working life of treated parts and components.

Moorhouse Coating provides industrial coating services utilizing a variety of steel coating materials. These include corrosion resistant, solvent free, galvanizing, high-performance, exposed weathering steel and low VOC (Green) Coating systems. Our team of skilled workers can also provide you with fire protection including fireproofing and intumescent coatings, keeping your structures strong in intense heat and helping to protect assets.  Call us today to discuss the right protection and maintenance plan for your project.

Steel Coating Options

At Moorhouse Coating we work with a wide range of unique steel coating materials for your industrial coating needs. Our steels coating options include:

Wear & Anti-Corrosion Coatings

  • Stainless Steel Coatings proving exceptional wear and corrosion resistance, and ideal for dimensional build-up of worn or damaged parts
  • Amorphous Alloy Coatings greatly improve temperature, wear, and corrosion resistance
  • Carbon Steel Coatings can be used to rebuild or repair surface damage on many steel substrates, bringing them back to OEM specs while closely matching material properties

Coating Existing Components

Industrial metal coatings can also be applied to newly-manufactured parts to enhance performance. Components can be manufactured from engineered substrate materials that provide weight reduction, improved strength, or other beneficial characteristics, then coated with enhanced hard metal coatings for greater wear resitance and durability. While we don’t specialize in newly coated parts, we can point you in the right direction with the correct maintenance schedule in the future.

Wear & Anti-Corrosion Coatings

When steel materials are put into corrosive environments, the effects quickly become evident on the surfaces. When the steel surface is properly protected with wear-abrasion coatings they are less likely to break down. Steel coatings can be applied in varying thicknesses to increase the level of protection they provide. Our team will work with you to determine the best steel coating material and application technique for your specific needs.

Beneficial Uses for Industrial Stainless Steel Coatings

Certain metal parts require steel and stainless steel coatings to effectively perform their jobs. Stainless steel coatings protect the metal part from wear and oxidation, as well as other detrimental factors. Some of the more common applicable uses for coatings are listed below.

Repairing & Restoring Worn Components

Steel coatings and other industrial metal coatings can often be an effective method of repairing worn components and restoring them to OEM specs. Besides being less expensive than replacing the parts, these coatings can often be applied on-site, which is faster and more efficient.

Coating Existing Components

Metal components can be coated with materials of similar chemistries to return them to their original dimensions and restore their performance to like-new levels. Alternatively, coating worn metal components with conductive, dielectric, or thermal barrier coatings can enhance their performance in challenging or specialized applications.

Field Work

We provide field painting services for welding & handling damage and/or finish coat applications. No matter the set up of your project, Moorhouse has the expertise to make any job simple. Our field services include:

  • Cleaning
  • On site high pressure power washing
  • Hand tool cleaning
  • Rigging and scaffolding systems
  • Lifts
  • Numerous Safety Systems

Surface Preparation

Surface preparation is the most important element prior to the application of Industrial Steel Coatings. For steel structures and component this process usually involves pre-cleaning and abrasive blasting. Pre-cleaning removes loose or soluble surface contaminants. From high pressure power washing to hand & power tool cleaning, we can prepare the according to the paint manufacturer’s recommendations.

We have the ability to set up scaffolding in the workplace to perform the job when ladders are not feasible. For your Industrial Painting needs we are trained to setup & dismantle scaffolding according to OSHA standards.

High Pressure Power Washing

Sometimes high pressure power washing is required to ensure a clean surface that will accept new coatings. We provide this service to remove loose paint, surface rust and other contaminants.

Aerial Lifts

We have years of experience and training on aerial lifts. If you have a structure that requires a lift, we have you covered. We have experienced contractors who can operate lifts from 20′ to 150′ articulating and straight boom lifts.
